"Ambassador cars" which had rule the Indian car market for many decades has been sold to Peugeot. Has we known Hindustan motors will manufacture the Ambassador car's due to huge competition in Indian car market it had stopped manufacturing in 2014.
Hindustan motors had started the Ambassador car manufacturing in the year 1958 then it was change to status symbol for Indians. From 1958-mid 1980's company had the golden period but after Maruthi Suzuki 800 came into market with low price slowly it looses its hold on market.
Now Hindustan motor's has sold Ambassador manufacturing unit to Peugeot the french company for just rupees 80 cr with this money they had paid there liabilities and given pending salaries for there employees.
What ever it may be the great royal ambassador era has been end it will remain in history forever.
